Account

How do I make an account?

You will see the ‘make an account’ link under account on the web page above. Go here first of all to make a profile with your personal contact details: name, address, date of birth, e-mail address, and the number plate of the car which you will be using to collect the order. Choose a strong password in order to safeguard your account.

When is my account active?

After you have filled in your details and clicked on ‘Confirm’ at the bottom, you will receive the following message: ‘We have received your details. Please activate your registration by clicking on the link in the mail which we have just sent you.’ You will not be able to make a purchase until you have done this. If you do not receive this mail, check to make sure that it isn’t in your ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ folder.

Once you have confirmed this link, your registration is complete. You can now log-on at the times when the web shop is open. Your registration remains valid, even after a purchase.

Sales

When can I buy Trappist Westvleteren?

Check the calendar to see when the web shop is open.

For purchases with collection at the abbey, choose an opening time which corresponds to collection times when you can come to collect your order. This opening time of the shop and collection times are linked to each other and are indicated as such. You cannot yet confirm a collection time. That is only possible during an order. Nor can you choose a collection time apart from the collection times which are linked to that purchase time. These opening times and collection times will be updated on a regular basis for the coming weeks.

How do I place an order?

During the chosen purchase time, log on with your profile. You will now see the ‘Order now’ link on the ‘Beer sales’ page. This takes you to a waiting room until it is your turn. You must keep that screen open; otherwise you will lose your turn.

Only beer is offered for sale for a purchase with home delivery.

For a purchase with collection at the abbey, you can also add other products to your shopping basket.

When it is your turn, you can proceed to purchase beer you will be given a certain time to complete your order. Take account of the maximum permitted number of crates of beer from the Trappist sorts which are still available at that time.

For the collection, you choose a time and date from the collection times which are still available. These times are on display on the calendar. After that, you can proceed to the pay platform.

At the pay platform you fill in your payment card details. If your payment is completed successfully, you return to our website and your order is complete.

When is my payment successful?

When your payment is completed, you return to our website and your order is complete.

For a purchase with home delivery you will receive a mail with details about the shipment of your order.

For a purchase with collection at the abbey we will send you a mail which will include a summary of your order and a unique QR code. It is absolutely essential that you can present this QR code at the time of collection.

The order cannot be collected without a valid QR code!!

The ordered items will be available for you to collect from the abbey on the agreed date and at the agreed time.

Can I collect a different order?

During the collection we also check the number plate against the number plate registered in your profile. This means that you must use that car for the collection and that you cannot collect ANY other order, even if you have the QR code.

When can I return empties?

When you collect your order, you can also return your empties from previous purchases and then we will repay the return money on those empties. This amount is repaid to the payment card which was used to make the purchase.

Empties can also always be returned to the abbey during the collection times as indicated on the website calendar. Bring your client number with you so that this can also be registered on your account.

Disputes

You can take any disputes arising from our e-commerce to the online dispute settlement of the European Commission. You will find more information on: http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
